​Comedy Writers
Samantha Lyden and Teresa Burns are an award-winning, comedy writing partnership, represented by Berlin Associates. They specialise in female-led, working-class sitcoms, as well as writing comedy for young audiences.
Recent credits include writing on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, CBeebies’ BAFTA award-winning comedy, Justin’s House (Series 5 & 6) as well as original comedy pilots, Curveball produced by Rebecca Hewett-Farmer and The Bridesmaid’s Diaries directed by Miranda Howard Williams. Their short, Neil’s Yard directed by Matt Holt, was selected for the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival and won The Funny Women Award for Best Short. They were Comedy 50:50 finalists for the UKTV series commission and their sitcom Catch Yourself On was selected for a live script reading by Female Pilot Club, and was subsequently commissioned by Sky before moving into development with Gobby Girl Productions and BAFTA winning producer, Caroline Norris. They are also regular writers for Cartoon Network and recently wrote a pilot for an adaptation of Barbara Throws A Wobbler directed by Joris van Hulzen (Peppa Pig), now green-lit for series. In addition, they’re also currently writing on the new series of Foster’s Funtime for Imaginary Friends, a spin-off of the award-winning series, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, for Hanna-Barbera Studios.
